The economy may still be slumping, if not as badly as it had been, but it should come as no surprise that, dubious economy or otherwise, cancer is always creating jobs. It's an unfortunate reality.

But there is more than one way to consider that. After all, Cancer Treatment Centers of America has put out a call to people in the College Park, Georgia area looking for work, as they are seeking to hire as many as one hundred new employees for their new cancer center being built in the Newnan area.

According to the local CBS affiliate, CTCA at Southeastern will be holding a Career Fair on Tuesday, May 8 between noon and 8 PM at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC), 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park, GA 30337, open to anyone interested in working for the privately funded national cancer hospital network.

Jobs available include:

  • - Nursing (in-patient, out-patient, infusion, ICU and surgery)
  • - Surgical technicians
  • - Rehabilitation therapists
  • - Respiratory therapists
  • - Sterile processing technicians
  • - Registered nurse case managers
  • - Management/supervisory positions in surgery, in-patient, nurse/house, quality/risk, and pharmacy.
