Whipple Procedure: Quality of Life after? My Dad's doc has indicated he is a candidate for the Whipple Surgery- he is 81 years old. What are his options? I hear that the recovery from the Whipple is brutal and Quality of Life stinks. Options???

SURGEON HAS RECOMMENDED FOR RT WITH SOME DOSE OF CHEMO. THEY ARE NOT LOOKING IN FOR SURGERY RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF HIS AGE (70 YRS) AND HE HAS SUGAR AND BP. HIS PFT SCORE IS ALSO LOW. PLEASE SUGGEST WHETHER IT CAN BE CURED THRU RT ALONE.
